By following the five following tips you will stand out with your new professional LikedIn profile!
Do’s: A picture posing alone, wearing a professional outfit and looking right into the camera.
Dont’s: A cropped photo and/or a vacation picture with a cocktail in your hand and your sunglasses on your face 😉
2. Write a catching headline
The headline is the first sentence below your name. It is important to fill this in, as it makes you stand out. Plus, Google also checks this headline and determines how people will find your profile from outside LinkedIn. Check here how to write a strong headline.
What is an example of a headline you could make use of?
HBO Student Commerciële Economie/Talent at The Hospitalitist and HBO Student Commerciële Economie.
What experiences have you had? Display these in your LinkedIn profile. You can add your obtained certificates at the bottom part of your profile: “Certificates”.
Are you, for instance, part of a committee or board member of a study association? Ensure to add this information too! Include a brief summary of the responsabilities (job description) that you have had within that board period.
An outsider cannot sense what a Talent, Squad Lead or an Intern is doing at The Hospitalist, for instance. So, add a brief yet powerful description underneath each job/role you have had for which you are/were ultimately responsible for. It does not need to be longer than a few sentences.
As a Talent at The Hospitalitist, you can state in this job description what you do in this role and with which partner(s) you work. You may also indicate which training courses you have already followed internally. Again, an outsider does not know what an Influencer Training entails, so express it differently: “Feedback Training”.
Tip: you can add a company video below your description. It does look nice and beautiful! Do you not have any clue how to do this? Check the following website for the explanation. You can find The Hospitalitist’s company video on our Youtube channel!
